She's Home

I finally got one! I have been searching for one of these beauties for years. They are not easy to come by and I had almost given up hope of ever finding one. I missed out on one at a sale I went to during the summer (you can read about that here) and I was sick about it for weeks! I had never come face to face with one before and was really disappointed that I missed out on the opportunity to actually bring one home with me.
My favorite Estate Sale ladies were running that sale and they witnessed my despair. Last weekend my lovely Estate Sale ladies informed me that they had found something for me. Imagine my delight when I found out what it was!

Isn't she beautiful. I have no idea of her age, but she has aged well!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

If any of you are near Greensboro Georgia, Old Mill Estates is having what looks like a wonderful Estate Sale on November 13th-16th. I posted pictures of the sale on our Facebook Page. It looks like it's going to be a good one!

Whippets

Wow, it has been a long time since I have posted anything. I have not done much junking over the past couple of months. The new job is keeping me busy and there really haven't been many good sales anyway. Mom and I decided to try our luck today and I am so glad we did. I found some really cool stuff! We ended up going to a collector's sale and I just knew that everything was going to be pricey but we were pleasantly surprised with the deals we got. It's such a small world, the man that was having the sale grew up with my Uncle and they were really good friends when they were in school. We ended up chatting for a good while. The collector's sale is where I made my find of the day. When I spotted these two cuties I knew I had to have them. They are 1930's Cast Iron Art Deco Whippet Andirons. One is broken but I didn't care, broken or not they were too awesome to leave behind!

We also hit a few other sales and here is the rest of my haul for the day!

One of my estate sale ladies pulled me aside today and said she had something for me. I am picking it up on Tuesday. Can't wait to show you what it is. Hint - I missed out on one not to long ago and I was sick about it for a week!

Arts In The Heart Of Augusta

If you missed my earlier post about the "Miller Theater" you can read about it here however the reason me and my crew went on our adventure yesterday was to attend the annual "Arts in the Heart of Augusta" Festival. The Festival is held downtown and it hosts 115 artisans that are hand picked. They also have a global village that hosts ethnic food from around the world. We had so much fun but unfortunately I didn't find anything that I couldn't live without (I have found some great art in prior years). I did take lots of photo's of the festival (as I always do) and some of the historical buildings and architecture.
