Yesterday Mom and I went out junking for the first time in a couple of months (hence my absence from blogging). We were both missing not only the junk hunting but also the time we get to spend together on Saturday mornings. We headed off to the one estate sale advertised but when we got there it was a little bit of a disappointment to me. There were some nice pieces but the prices were high even at the 50% markdown and it just wasn't one of those sales with lots of stuff to dig through. I managed to find one little quirky bottle. It's an old Sanitol Tooth powder bottle. I think it dates to somewhere around 1900 to 1910.
We decided to hit up a few thrift shops after leaving the estate sale and I found a few more small treasures to include some vintage jumbo playing cards (which I can use for a project I saw on pinterest), some old dice, and an embroidered Scottie Dog picture.
As for as the Ballerina goes, I saw her on a Christmas tree in one of the Thrift shops and she looked like she needed rescuing. Her little head is very fragile and coming apart and I felt like no one would want her, but she is still a little cutie and I will place her in my sewing room with some of my other misfit toys and hopefully she will be happy there!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

One other thing, I posted about a website last week that has vintage Christmas catalogs going back to the 1930's that you can scroll through page by page. This is great for researching your vintage finds. I found another website this week that has a ton of vintage advertisements. This also is a great site to use for research. If you want to check it out, you can find it here.
