I'm joining Sophie at "Her Library Adventures" to participate in "Flea Market Find of the Year".
In looking back at all the photo's of all the treasures that I found this year, it is really hard to pick a favorite, and to make the choice even more difficult is the fact that since the beginning of the year I have been buying not only as a collector but also as a reseller. So I am going to split this up by my favorites finds that I kept for myself as a collector and those favorite finds that I found to resell.
First up are my favorite items for resell.
I found this sweet sterling rattle/teething ring from 1952 back in June for $3
In July I bought a whole box of charms for $12, there were tons of vintage charms and this one little oddity was included. Turns out it is a set of Vintage Kobe Charms. These have already sold for $150. Turns out they are very collectible. So if you spot any of the crazy creatures I would advise that you take them home with you.
Also in July, mom and I attended a great estate sale in the historic district of Augusta and I found these beauties, a 1936 Ten Pins game and some old letter tiles.
In October I found this beautiful carriage clock and a bag full of vintage baby clothing.
So those are my favorite picks for resell.
Here are a few treasures that I kept for myself, the collector in me just couldn't part with them and they will live out their second life here with me. Some 1930's and 1940's Vogue Magazines, a circa 1900's Fly Catcher, and old mixing bowl.
At an estate sale in April I stumbled across something that I was not looking for but pleasantly surprised to find, a new bedroom suite, a 7 piece French Blue Bedroom Suite from the late 1960's! If I had to go with my most favorite find of the year, this would be it!
Mom and I have had a great year and I look forward to finding more treasures that I know are out there somewhere just waiting on me.
I would like to thank Sophie for providing such a fabulous forum for me to share all my adventures in thrifting!
I so enjoy looking at everyone's thrifty treasures each week.

ReplyDeleteHi there, you found some wonderful treasures during the year but I have to agree with most of the comments, the blue bedroom suite was certainly by far the best buy. Thanks for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
