I had all intentions of staying home this weekend and doing some sewing but that is not the way things turned out. There were two estate sales in our area today and the pull was just to much to resist. So I headed over to mom's this morning and off we went. The first sale did not render much but I did get a set of vintage canisters and some old silverware.
The next sale was in Aiken SC, so we had a little ride ahead of us and decided to break out the GPS. Upon arriving at the sale I noticed from the sign that this was the second day of the sale (could be a good thing or a bad thing). I do think it might have been a bad thing in this case. Most everything was picked over and there really wasn't that much left (and it was advertised as a HUGE sale). So either it wasn't that huge or they really had some action on Friday. Anyway we rummaged through what was left and I was pleasantly surprised to find a set of vintage cocktail napkins (which I collect). They are so adorable with the cherries on them and are in great condition. I also found a few other goodies:
On the way home we thought we would hit a couple of thrift stores in Aiken but they were a bust. So we stopped at our Goodwill once we got back to Augusta and I am so glad that we did because I found a vintage "NOEL" candle set.
So we had a pretty successful day and I'm glad I went out however I hope that there is some sewing going on here tomorrow. I have a couple of projects that I am ready to get started.
Hope you all have had a great weekend and found many treasures.

oh my those cherry cocktail napkins are DIVINE!
ReplyDeleteWhat delightful finds! My eyes opened a little wider when I saw the vintage stapler. For some reason, I am in love with vintage desk accessories. Can't wait to see your sewing projects.❤
ReplyDeleteOMWord!! All your finds are amazing!! I love the napkins and those canisters are to die for. I have to say all would be right in my world if I found those green NOEL ceramic letters. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI can so relate to the temptation to go thrifting when there's work to be done at home. Like you, I usually give in to thrifting! But you girls did great! The cocktail napkins and other lines are lovely. And I especially love the little shelfy-cupboard. Are you going to leave it as is or paint it? Regardless, it's really nice. Thanks for stopping by Cottage and Creek and happy thrifting :)

Hi I just drop by to say Hi, and thank you for following by blog. I have been reading some of your posts and it sounds like you have so much fun doing estate sales. We don’t have many estates sales in our area; we do have garage sales in the summer, they are a lot of fun, but slim pickin’ on antiques. I love reading about your adventures. I worked as a professional photographer durning the 80’s and 90’s and whoever is taking your photos, has a very good eye. Keep up the good work, looking forward to more great posts. Your blogging sister, Connie

ReplyDeleteNice finds. The cocktail napkins are really sweet. I also like the tea towels. You can never have too many of those.
ReplyDeleteGreat vintage finds, and I see that you found a clock too. Thanks for the kind comments on my clock.
