I ran to an estate sale yesterday at lunch and it was just okay. I found a few good things and bought of huge box of empty boxes for $5. They were all sizes and very sturdy and I can use them for shipping my Etsy stuff so I was pretty happy about that. However that just didn't satisfy my junk craving, and you junkers know what I mean. So I looked through the ads for yard sales today and came across this:
How could I pass this up, I mean really "The Great Garage Sale"! Well I got myself up this morning and headed that way and let me tell you it was "The Great Garage Sale" and it certainly put an end to my craving! I walked away very satisfied. Usually when you go to sales like this by fellow junkers the prices are kind of high because they know what they have. Not at this one, I mean things were cheap! I think they were moving and just wanted to unload all their junk. I didn't get there right when they started so I have no idea what I might have missed out on but I was pretty happy with my haul. So here is what I came home with:
Hazel Atlas Cocktail Set (Shaker, Ice Bucket and 12 glasses)
Old Flat Bed Toy Truck
My first creepy dolls ever (I got some doll parts too!)
First Aid Boxes and an old Clock Face
Box of jewelry making supplies (there is some cute stuff in there)
Lots of old card games
Box full of junk (all for $2)
This little pie bird was in the $2 box, he is cracked but that's okay because I have always wanted a pie bird and he will just stay here with me.
I also found this piece which I still have to research but it looked interesting
Old photographs
Bag of old ephemera (my favorite)
I also picked up this piece, it will be great to use as a display or in my office.
Hope you found a "Great Garage Sale" in your area this weekend and rescued lots of vintage!
