Vintage Finds - Junk hunting with Mom

They held a "Vintage Market Days" event in North Augusta this weekend. I was excited to go check it out so Mom and I made plans to head over there on Saturday morning. While it was a very nice event and I enjoyed it and did pick up a few things, there was not a lot of real vintage there. Maybe 3 or 4 vendors actually had vintage items. I did really like this booth and bought one of the cupcake stands made from old bed springs.

I also found this vintage postcard for $1.50, because I have the dearest brother ever I had to have it.

Since we were really close to our favorite junk shop over in North Augusta, we decided to stop by when we left the Vintage Market Day Event. I am glad we did, I found some pretty good junk.

A couple of old dolls, the Irwin Kewpie Doll needs the arms restrung but other than that it's in good shape. I don't know anything about the other doll yet.

Ronson Lighter in box, an Old Medical School or Fraternity Pin and a lovely little Gold Locket.

I know two red headed girls that are going to want this little Tin Litho Horse!

A few holiday items, tiny Chalkware Chick, miniature Santa Mug and a Japan Elf.

Had to save this little couple. They are not in great shape but I love them anyway! I think from the 1930's.

A vintage child's Peanuts Sweatshirt. I sure did love the Peanuts when I was a child.

Not sure what this is, thinking an Ink Roller, if you have any ideas let me know.

The Hat/Wig Box has a cloth head form inside, never have seen one like this before.

So it was all in all a fun day out junking with Mom.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Estate Sales Edgefield SC

I made a big purchase this week!

Mom and I rode over to an estate sale in Edgefield SC on Thursday and I bought a few things and one of those things was really a big thing.

I just love it! However it would not fit in my car so I had to have it delivered the next day. Thank goodness they had someone willing to bring it to me.

It is an old Pharmacy Table/Cabinet. You can see the Pharmacy Glass in the center. I just thought it was such a beautiful old piece and it was calling my name so I am giving it a new home.

Here are a few other items that I picked up at the sale.

Am I the only one who buys clothes for her dress forms? Loved this beautiful vintage blouse.

This has to be one of the cutest aprons that I have ever found, I just love the pocket!

Some reproduction Cards and Boxes, some frogs, Josef Original Sweet Sixteen, Apothecary Jars, and a few other smalls.

Are these deer not the cutest!

I was thrilled to find this vintage Augusta piece. It still has coffee in it!

Red Work Pillow Case

The Columbia County Community Yard Sale was this morning but due to threatening rain there were not that many vendors there (only one or two vintage vendors). I did find one thing, a Whiting & Davis Gold Mesh Cigarette Case in it's original box. It is in lovely condition.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Estate Sales

Well Mom and I finally found a good estate sale yesterday! It was down in the Hill Area  and was held in a really lovely old home.

It was crazy crowded though, I think I waited in line about 30 minutes to check out.

I bought a ton of stuff new and old. I thought I would share the old stuff.

We are crazy Beatles fans in this house, so I was happy to find a reproduction Beatles poster nicely framed. Mom found the John Lennon book but I bought it from her.

Loving this little vintage postcard box, could have possibly been a cigar box. It has small metal tags on the side that are marked "Wizard" and "F. Grammes & Sons", I am thinking maybe from around the 1920's. Since I have about a million old postcards, this will come in handy.

I love this little locket, it is enamel with a small diamond chip in it. Not sure if it is gold or not. I researched and this could be an Antique Victorian piece. Not sure yet, still researching but it is just a lovely piece.

A  1953-55 Madame Alexander "Margot" Ballerina Doll that need a little TLC but I am in the habit of rescuing Vintage Dolls.

I have been looking for one of these glove molds for a long time, I finally snagged one yesterday.

A few more vintage finds from yesterday - hankies, child's embroidered duvet, Nixon pinbacks, redwork patterns, and some Woolworth Easter Baskets.

The sale is running through Sunday, I may have to go back for the 50% off!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
