High End Estate Sale

Mom and I attended a high end estate sale on Friday and they really were high end (most of the items were over $100 - the furniture was running about $3500). I couldn't afford anything there! Well I did find three very small inexpensive items but it wasn't easy I tell you. Here is my very small haul from the estate sale.

A vintage child's broom, flower frog and a signed art glass bowl

I actually got the Candy Canes from the Goodwill. Not much was going on so we headed home early but Mom had a few items to give me. I always love it when she says "I have something for you" because I know it will be from my childhood, something that she has held on to all these years. She did not disappoint, she gave me a shawl that my Granny made and a little vintage hankie!

We did not go out today so I have been working hard in our Etsy Shop. Hope you all are having a great weekend and if you are out hunting vintage I hope you find something wonderful!

Vintage School Posters and Cards

I was very lucky to be gifted a couple of boxes of vintage school supplies. These actually came from an estate sale that I attended a while back at the home of a school teacher. I purchased quite a bit at that sale (you can see what I got here) but certainly missed out on these beauties. Again, lucky for me a friend bought these and just recently gifted them to me. I am beyond excited! Here are a few things that were inside the boxes:

These are little booklets, they are dated 1959

Lots of these cards for Letters and Numbers

I think these two are my favorites!

Not sure if this a a border for a bulletin board or what but it is so cute!

These little cards are darling also! I love the doll in the bed!

These cards are just beautiful, loving the V for Violet!

This is a whole set of Alphabet Posters (they are a large size), they are in great condition and in the original box.

This lady sure took care of her supplies and most have been a wonderful teacher.
These vintage goodies just make me smile!

Church Sale and JP Coats Spool Cabinet

Yesterday morning I had no idea that I would be rummaging through a bunch of junk later that day. Mom called me early on Friday morning to see if I wanted to go to a Church Preview Sale (well of course I did, did she really need to ask). We met up with two of my sisters later that evening and headed over to get in line. I found some really great stuff but missed out on something fabulous (I just about died when I saw it, no kidding I think I may have stopped breathing for a minute). There was a very old beautiful weathervane sitting outside but by the time I got there it was too late. There was a big (boo hiss) SOLD sticker on it! Oh well you win some you lose some! I did get some pretty good stuff though, so here we go:

I know this is a reproduction but I can use this for it's intended purpose. The little clear glass panes are what got me. Who doesn't want a JP Coats spool cabinet right? Who can afford one, they are so expensive. So this is the next best thing. It is very well made (although I hate the color and may do something about that) and I can sure use it for storing my thread so I bought it, for $25 it was a no brainer for me.

Next up is this charming little pie basket. I just love it and have never run across one before. It is marked West Rindge Baskets, West Rindge NH.

Even though Mom and have a pact of no more glass, I just couldn't help myself.

I did get a bunch of other stuff and you can see it here if you are interested but these were the highlights of the evening for me.

I am staying put today working on my Etsy shop. I actually got 16 items listed over the past couple of days and plan to try to keep up the pace. I love selling on Etsy and it is very rewarding when you match a vintage item with someone who loves it! I do it to make a little extra money but I think the real thrill for me is when I get feedback from someone who was looking for something special and I was able to provide it to them!

Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!

Vintage Dainty Doll Dresses

I am really challenging myself to get all of this vintage doll stuff listed. I think it is going to take forever! I really need to start devoting more time to listing my items. I tend to go buy, buy, buy and not list, list, list! Does anybody else do that?  As I am trying to get my office remodeled I really need to get rid of some of my inventory and we bought such a huge amount last week I really don't need it cluttering up my space. Okay enough of that, here are a few of the dresses that I listed this morning:

They really are quite lovely and very dainty!
