This and That

I picked up a little bit of this and that over the weekend, didn't find anything outstanding but did find a lot of great smalls. Mom and I hit a church sale, yard sale and a few estate sales plus we paid a visit to a couple of Flea Markets.

One of the Estate Sales that I visited had a lot of fabulous old photos and that is pretty much all I bought there. There was one item that I really really liked but when I asked the price the guy said it was already sold (just my luck). Anyway I was happy to walk away with some really great old photos.

We made plans to be at the Church Sale as soon as they opened the doors at 8 o'clock, however that didn't work out to well for us as they opened the doors early and the shopping was already in full swing when we pulled up. Everything was pretty much picked over and cleaned out but I did manage to find a few treasures that were missed.

Next stop was the Humane Society Yard Sale, not much there but I did find a couple of smalls and spent less than a dollar. I also walked away with a horrible sinus headache - the smell was horrible and we could not stay in the building very long.

On to the hoarder sale, it was just so packed in there you could hardly move. It was mostly books and not much else. I am a little mad about this sale! I picked up a 1971 Sports Illustrated Pro Football Game with the intention of selling it on Etsy. I asked the guy if all the pieces were present and he said yes they were and that he didn't sell stuff that was not complete. Well guess what - after researching it when I got home it is far from complete. Oh well, I took a chance and lost on that one. I did buy a few other things there.

Our last stop was the Flea Market. Love the wire basket, Cocktail set and the bottle opener I found.

More photo's on our Facebook page here.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Oh and if you missed my earlier post on the Willard Suitcase Project you can find it here. Pictures and video of Jon Crispin's project photographing 400 suitcases and contents dating from the 1910 to 1960 found in the attic of Willard Psychiatric Hospital in New York.

  9. You got some great things! Love the clocks and the keys. Old photos are always greats. Saddens me a little that family members don't have these precious bits of photography. I'm going to an estate sale in the morning. Yahoo! Can't wait! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
