Mom and I have done a little junking over the past couple of weeks. Last Saturday we went to a sale downtown in an old building that was packed with junk. A "Helen and Her Daughter" Facebook friend had been to the sale on Friday and advised us to bring a flashlight and it's a good thing she did because there was no power in the building and it was very very dark in there. We had fun "picking" through the building and found some great stuff. Here are a few things I found down town:
Vintage Industrial Lighting
(in perfect condition)
Upholstery Fabric
Isn't this mail bucket adorable!
I snagged 4 old sewing machine drawers!
Once we left that sale we went over to the Flea Market where I found some great vintage sewing items:
I bought about 12 Vintage Children's Patterns
I have never seen a zipper packaged like this, have you?
I also picked up some more Vintage German Paper Lace
Yesterday we went to an estate sale in the Hill area of town. While there wasn't a ton of stuff I was excited to find an original piece of art which I will be keeping! I also picked up a small Ironstone pitcher.
Johnson Bros. Ironstone Pitcher
Creepy Cool Original Artwork
(I love her)
More pic's of my finds from the past couple of weeks on our Facebook page.
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

OH WOW .... beautiful finds Verna...I love them all!
ReplyDeleteShe is both creepy and cool! I love original art. The mail bucket is really cute.
ReplyDeleteLove your finds especially the art. I don't find her creepy but mysterious. I wonder what her story is.

That is one creepy art piece. Great for a Halloween display!
ReplyDeleteThe German Paper Lace is very cool. I've never seen anything like that in my thrifting adventures. And of course, the patterns are very cool, too. My favorite is the ironstone pitcher - love it!
You found some great things.
The art is kind of cool, but a bit creepy for me. So fun that you see real beauty in her. I do love the pitcher and sewing machine drawers are always great. So many things that you can do with them. Love that paper lace too. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
