The Dish

I was up and out early this morning but not to go junking. We held the second part of our Company's Furniture Sale today and I had to be there at 7:30a to help get things ready and work the floor while the sale was going on. If you read my prior post you know that we had to bid on the items we wanted (you can read about it here) last Saturday, but this week it was cash and carry. I am usually the one outside waiting to get in so I knew the frenzy that was waiting on us as we opened the door. It certainly started off with a bang but was a lot of fun as I enjoy seeing people walk away with items that they love and will take home and give a second life. I too brought home a few items that I love!

Homer Laughlin Hotel Ware

A lovely Water Color

Don't know what I am going to do with these yet, they are broken but had to much charm to leave behind

And this beauty

(sorry for the poor photo but we had to go ahead and put everything in the garage when we unloaded it - I actually got 4 beds but this one is my favorite)

Hoping you found some great treasures today!

  1. That bed looks charming! great finds

  2. You can't go wrong with white dishes! You found a lot of great stuff. ;)

  3. The desk and chest you bid on and won are great pieces. Love all the restaurant china too.

  4. The bed is gorgeous! Sounds like a fun sale to be a part of.

  5. Oooo, nice finds. What a great set of dishes. Love em, and the metal piece.

  6. Great finds...I especially love the restaurant ware!

  7. Oh that bed look amazing! What are the little urns? They are so interesting and I don't blame for not leaving them behind. I love things like that. The restaurant ware is fantastic - I visited the HL outlet in West VA several years ago and bought up quite a few persimmon and black dishes. They are "seconds" but wonderful, sturdy dishes that last and last! Great finds!

  8. How great to find that many white dishes. Handy for every occassion. Looks like you found some other unique items. Can't wait to see what you do with everything. Always love to have you share with Share Your Cup.
