I spent last night catching up on all the blogs I follow and I have to say I am so jealous! I think I may have been drooling after reading Bargain Hunting Treasure Seeker's post on all her fabulous finds this weekend. I loved the Treasure Trove over at Quirky Vistas, the horseshoe set is amazing! Lynda at Something Created Everyday kept her cool and found some wonderful treasures including a sweet little cocktail set. So why am I so envious of these fellow junkers? I had to work on Saturday and did not get to go out to any sales.
Don't feel to sorry for me yet! Our company had an employee furniture sale and I had to work it. So I was in a warehouse filled with rows and rows of gorgeous furniture at bargain prices (what could be better than that). Employee's could bid on items and I put my name on about 8 pieces. One piece didn't have any names on it other than mine so I knew I would win that item but it was going to be the luck of the draw on the other seven. This is the lonely piece no one else wanted. It's a Councill Craftsman Desk. It does need a little TLC but I thought it was a great buy at $30. Councill Craftsman pieces are collectible for their high quality and design elements so I was thrilled to bring this piece home.
Unfortunately I did not get all the items I bid on but my name was drawn for this Three Drawer Chest. I love, love, love this piece! I don't know much about it other than it's an older piece that has been painted and it was only $30.
Next week they will be having a cash and carry for all the things that didn't sell and let me tell you there was tons of stuff left. I am not sure if I will have to work that sale or not but I am planning on being there either way.
While I was working the sale my junking partner (mom) was out getting peaches. I went by yesterday afternoon and picked up the ones she got for me. I was so ready to cut into one but they need another day or two to ripen up.
Hoping everyone is having a fabulous and fun weekend!

Oh, How I love your choice of color for your chest! It's gorgeous and so Colonial looking! I have a red Welsh Cupboard and it always seems to fit into my decor...whether summer or winter.
