The Pact

Me and Mom have made a pact that we are going to stay in for the next couple of weeks and work on our existing inventory and projects. We made that pact on Thursday and guess who fell off the wagon less than a day later! I saw something at the "Dealer going out of business Estate Sale" last week that I wanted to go back for this week because they were going to 40% off. I thought that these little place cards were adorable and could be part of a give away that I am planning.

Once I picked these up I had to take another look around and of course I picked up a few more tidbits.

I don't know about you but I love to read the notes written on the postcards, this one says "Look for us on Sunday if it is a nice day. I have holiday tomorrow". What can I say about the dog - he so sweet!

I also grabbed a couple of old photographs.

The beach photo is my favorite, it says Staten Island on the back.

I also got this red tray that was the cutest thing ever and it was only $7, how could I not take it home with me!

As I was checking out I spotted this little girl and she was so cheap I added her to my stack.

Sorry Mom, I tried to resist. I did stay home today though!

Hope you all are having a great weekend and finding wonderful treasures!

  1. I know how hard it is to pass by those sales! I have been trying to avoid them myself as I have an overabundance of wonderful goodies which need to find a) a place in my home (other than the dining room table) or b) a place in another loving home. It is slow going.

But, when you do have to break a pact it is good when you find such cool and worthy items! Love the red tray and how you have it set up. Nice postcards and I love the little frog displaying them, too.

  2. I haven't been thrift shopping for two weeks, not because of a pact but a vacation with the family. I missed my favorite stores and shopping estate sales, maybe I should make a pact with your mother. Like Tammy I have too much stuff.
The items you purchased are lovely, especially the postcards and photos.

  4. Must admit, I am a tad jealous. I just told my friend that I was so in the mood for an estate sale. Yard sales here just aren't wonderful. I am on an e-mail list for a company that holds estate sales but haven't received one for a while. I think I'm going through withdrawals. lol! I love vintage postcards and the message on the back makes them even more sweet. Love the red tray and I'm sure mama will forgive you.
    Hugs,
