I have been so junk sick! It has been two weeks since I have had the opportunity to go out junking. I ran through the ads last night and made a plan to hit some yard sales today. I didn't really expect to find much but was determined to get out and find something, anything to satisfy my craving. The first sale I stopped at was the best and I bought most of my stuff there. The guy was moving and he was a collector so he had some good stuff (well my kind of stuff). The first thing I spotted was a Cootie's Game in the original box complete with all the pieces. I don't know about you but I remember playing this game.
I also found a 1951 City of Augusta Traffic Code Book that will go in my Augusta collection. I am always excited when I find a little piece of Augusta History. (I love the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Officer).
This guy had a lot of ephemera and I got quite a few really cute pieces! The sandwich booklet is from 1936. The hospital booklet has a very scary looking Nursing Staff.
I also found a few vintage toys. Yabba Dabba Doo! Vintage Flinestones play money!
Some sterling thimbles.
After I wrapped up there I headed to the second day of an estate sale and the pickings were slim! I only bought two items there, this wonderful Sam and the Firefly book and some vintage glitter from Fat Man's. I may save the book for my Red Headed Girls.
I also bought this hand display for Mom (it's not old but will be a great display for her jewelry).
I think I am satisfied (for now anyway!).
What an awesome collection - love the boardgame and the vintage paper and the hand is super cute :)
ReplyDeleteI love the things you found. I remember playing with my Cootie game when I was young. I would definitely buy one like that if I found one. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Dianne

Wow, that looks like you had fun! My younger sister had Cootie, but it was a newer version and I'm not sure we ever played a full game of it, just put the bugs together.
