I hadn't planned to go out junking this weekend but when I saw that the Wesley United Methodist Church semi annual yard sale was on Saturday I knew I wouldn't be able to control myself. I had a small dilemma though because I was booked to watch my Red Headed Girls on Saturday morning. So after the Red Headed Girls mother returned I dashed out the door and headed to the sale.
Everything was pretty picked over by the time I got there but I did find a few things that were overlooked by others (my sisters included, I saw them leaving as I was pulling in the parking lot). There was a big bag on the floral table and it didn't appear that anyone had even bothered to take a peek to see what was inside. Well let me tell you I did and I was pleasantly surprised to find a ton of vintage Christmas floral picks.
These two little fellas are my favorites and may be keepers! They are so tiny and adorable. Just look at those sweet faces.
Then I found another unopened bag filled with gold foil Christmas floral picks.
And yet another bag filled with bottle brush trees (not so sure these are old but they are still great to decorate with at Christmas).
For some unknown reason, most people just pass over the cocktail napkins. I guess that is good for me since I collect them. Love these beauties in perfect condition.
The last thing I found at that sale is just the cutest thing ever. I have never come across a bobble head flocked deer before, have you? When I saw him I quickly grabbed him and stuffed him in my bag.
So after I finished up there I headed to another Church sale that a Facebook friend had posted about hoping I could make it before they closed their doors. I just made it by the skin of my teeth. The first sale was picked over but this one was really picked over. I didn't think I was going to find a thing and they were starting to pack up stuff while I was still looking. In a speed round of shopping (as I felt pressure since they were packing up) I managed to grab some old cookbooks, a box full of red Christmas birds and a cute little towel holder.
Best part, I spent less than $20.
You did very well! I love the pixies! Church sales can be a wonderful place to find treasures.
