The "American Picker" Sale

I'm a big fan of the "American Pickers" TV show. I often wonder where some of the fabulous junking kingdoms that Mike and Frank visit are located. Well I guess one has been right under my nose all this time and I didn't even know it! There was an ad and article in the paper a couple of weeks ago regarding the estate sale on Mr. Gordon Farmer (who had been featured on American Pickers in 2010), Mr. Farmer passed away in the fall of 2012 and they were selling off his collection. OH MY! Can you imagine my excitement! In reality I knew that most of the collection would be way out of my price range but I still wanted to go gawk at all the stuff (and hopefully find a small treasure to bring home), I mean how often do you get the chance to look at an American Picker "honey hole" (as Mike Wolfe would say). My brother attended on the first day of the sale and said there were about 200 people there and you had to sign in on a list as they were only letting 20 people in at a time (I know some of you are used to this but that is not the norm for  estate sales in our area). He didn't end up getting to go in the "General Store" to see the collection but did get to look at the old cars that were in a different building. When he called me with this news I was not hopeful that Mom and I would get in on Saturday. We almost decided not to go but I am glad we changed our minds because we walked right in (we did have to sign in but they were letting everyone go in even though there were way more than 20 people milling about). Here are of few photo's of the "Honey Hole":

I'm not going to lie - I Loved it (Mom did not love it)! They were negotiating on prices while we were there so I did get a few things which I will post about later. Everything at the sale will be 50% off today and because I am a very sick person I want to go back but I am going to resist the temptation (unless my brother calls - ha ha).

Hope you are having a great weekend and if you went junking I hope you found a "Honey Hole" to pick!
